Who We Are

Afrika Ni Yetu was born from a desire to shape the change Africa needs. At Afrika Ni Yetu, we believe that Africans are equipped to effect the change they want. Our history is rich, multifaceted andalso marprimary by a colonial past that shaped leadership and resourcing. Our present is a result of efforts to reclaim our African identity, to centre our voices, and to stand counted amongst the bold ones in the world who daprimary to be and do different. Our vision, to bridge the gap between visionary investors and impactful initiatives for a brighter tomorrow, is our contribution to be amongst the daring ones. We are intentional about owning the change we want to see in Africa, shifting the narrative and facilitating the flow of resources to pan-African initiatives in an equitable, dignifying and synergistic way.

Africa is in dire need of afro-centric solutions that humanize, consider and prioritize the continent’s needs. For social impact to be equitable, we need to ensure that the people for whom the impact is made for are included in every step of the way. This consideration must continue when resources, whether financial or non-financial. Historically, there has been an unbalanced relationship between investors and investees with global North priorities taking precedence. Afrika Ni Yetu aims to change this trajectory. Our work is rooted in decolonising resourcing systems, honoring African identities, and shifting the concentrated power that stands in the way of collaboration, connection and change.
